The Art Of Dying is a philosophical film, an attempt to look beyond the frontiers of death. Most people somehow view this phenomenon as the 'end' or 'termination' of life, but this film tries to counter this view. Death is not a full-stop, but a comma in the never ending sentence of life - a view voiced by many throughout the ages. Even though The Art of Dying is set in present day Russia, the film is not bound by time or space. Because it speaks about universal concepts, the film remains relevant in any society or country at any point of time. The questions raised are eternal. But like many films do, The Art of Dying doesn't stop having raised the questions. It makes a bold attempt to try and grasp answers to it. But extreme care has been taken so as to not be forceful and the view presented in the film is only suggestive and allows the viewer to use his own discretion to judge for himself. The mood of the film and its smooth flowing narrative aims to carry the viewer into the meta-physical world, transcending the material domain...
