Prabhupada: A Lifetime In Preparationis a biographical film on the life of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, a saint from Bengal who, at the age of seventy travelled to America and started the Hare Krishna movement. This film, however, is not about Prabhupada - the guru, but about Prabhupada - the person. It focuses on his life in India prior to his historic journey. In fact the film ends with his departure to America. It is the story of a mission, given to him by his spiritual master and the story of his struggle to fulfill that mission. The aim of this film is not to endorse or reject Prabhupada's philosophy. It is an attempt to capture his spirit, his courage and conviction, to try and understand his capacity of self-sacrifice for a higher cause and thus have a glimpse of his exemplary personality.
